Your Analytics dashboard shows you how your restaurant is performing — from gross revenue and order volume to your busiest hours and fastest-moving menu items. This page explains every metric, chart, and section so you can read your data confidently and act on it.

Getting There

Go to Analytics in your dashboard sidebar. The dashboard loads with the last 7 days selected by default.

Selecting Your Date Range

Use the date range dropdown at the top right to change the reporting window:

Grouping Charts

The Group by selector (Daily / Weekly / Monthly) controls how data points are bucketed across all charts. For a 7-day view, Daily is most useful. For a quarterly or annual view, Weekly or Monthly gives a cleaner picture.

Compare to Previous Period

Toggle Compare to see the equivalent prior period overlaid on your charts as a dashed grey line. Trend badges (small percentage indicators) appear on each metric card to show whether you’re tracking ahead or behind the prior period.

Top Metrics

Financial

Operational

If your Avg Prep Time is climbing week over week, it’s often a signal that a specific part of the kitchen workflow needs attention — not necessarily that the whole kitchen is slow. Cross-reference with your Peak Hours chart to see if delays are concentrated at busy times.

Sales & Orders Chart

The main chart visualises your data over time. Use the tabs to switch between:
  • Sales — Net revenue per day/week/month
  • Orders — Total order volume over time
  • AOV — Average order value per period (completed orders only)
  • Traffic — Page views to your storefront
When Compare is on, a dashed grey line shows the previous period on the same axis so you can directly compare trends without switching views.

Peak Activity Times

This section answers one of the most practically useful questions in restaurant analytics: when are customers ordering? The bar chart shows order volume by hour of day, across the full selected period. Two callouts appear at the top:
  • Busiest Hour — the single hour that received the most orders
  • Quietest Hour — the hour with the fewest orders among those with any activity
Use this to:
  • Staff your kitchen appropriately — don’t over-schedule quiet hours or understaff peak ones
  • Time your promotions — launching a flash deal just before a naturally busy hour can amplify impact
  • Plan prep — if your busiest period starts at 6pm, your mise en place schedule should account for it
When Compare is on, a dashed grey line overlays the previous period’s hourly pattern so you can see whether your peak windows are shifting.

Order Types

This card breaks down your orders by fulfilment type — Delivery, Pickup, and Dine-in — showing the count and percentage of total for each. A horizontal progress bar for each type shows its relative proportion of your order mix. Knowing your order type split helps you make decisions about staffing (delivery and pickup require different workflows), packaging investment, and which channels to promote.

Traffic Breakdown

Shows where your page views are coming from, categorised by page type — for example, your main menu page versus individual item pages. Each category shows a count and a proportional bar. This helps you understand how customers are navigating your menu — whether they’re browsing broadly or landing directly on specific items (often from a shared link or promotion).

Customer Heatmap

The Customer Heatmap is available on the mobile app only. It does not appear on the web dashboard.
A map view showing delivery address density — where your customers are geographically concentrated. Darker hexagonal zones indicate a higher concentration of orders from that area. Use this to:
  • Identify your core delivery zones
  • Spot emerging neighbourhoods that might justify a targeted promotion
  • Evaluate whether your delivery radius is appropriately sized

Top Menu Items

The five best-selling menu items in the selected period, ranked by total revenue. Each row shows the item name, total quantity sold, and revenue. Items with photos display a thumbnail.

Top Customers

The five highest-spending customers in the period, ranked by total spend. Each row shows the customer name, number of orders, and total amount spent.

Recent Orders

The 10 most recent orders in the period, showing order number, date, customer name, order status, and total. Clicking an order number navigates directly to the full order detail view.

Understanding Your Settlement Numbers

The analytics dashboard uses the same settlement calculation shown on individual order detail pages. For each completed order:
  • Your gross sales are the product subtotal before any platform deductions
  • The platform commission is calculated from your contracted rate and deducted from gross
  • GST (5%) and PST (7% BC) are applied to the commission itself — these are taxes on the platform’s service fee, not on your food revenue
  • GST collected on food is shown as an informational figure — this is money you collect from customers on behalf of the CRA and remit separately
Your net payout is what remains after all platform deductions.

Refreshing Data

Click the refresh icon in the top right header to force a fresh load. Analytics are cached for 5 minutes — the refresh button bypasses the cache and pulls current data from Firestore immediately.
