There are two main ways to find products in the Local Market: search and browsing by category. Both work well depending on whether you know what you want or are just exploring.
  1. From any market page, tap the Search products… bar at the top of the screen
  2. You’ll be taken to the Search page
  3. Type in what you’re looking for — for example, apples, sourdough, or honey
  4. Results will update as you type
Search works best with specific ingredient or product names. Try “fresh eggs” or “grass-fed beef” rather than just “food”.

What the search looks at

The search checks product names, categories, and vendor information to find the best matches for what you typed. Results are filtered to products available in your location.

Browsing by Category

If you’re not sure exactly what you want, browsing by category is a great way to explore.

From the market home page

The horizontal row of chips near the top of the market home page shows all available top-level categories (e.g. Produce, Dairy, Bakery). Tap any chip to see all products in that category.

From the Browse menu

  1. Tap the filter / search icon (floating button at the bottom right) on the market home page
  2. This opens the Product Search page which lists all categories alphabetically
  3. Tap a category to see its subcategories
  4. Tap a subcategory to see all products within it

Category → Subcategory → Products

Categories are organized in two levels:
  • Category: e.g. Produce
    • Subcategory: e.g. Root Vegetables, Leafy Greens, Citrus Fruits
      • Products: individual items listed within that subcategory
Tapping a subcategory shows you a grid of all matching products along with filter chips at the top so you can refine further.

Reading Product Counts

When browsing categories and subcategories, you’ll see a number in brackets next to each name, like Produce (42). This tells you how many products are currently available in that group. Categories and subcategories with a count of 0 are hidden — this means nothing is currently stocked in that group for your location.

Tips for Better Results

  • If a search returns no results, try a more general term (e.g. search cheese instead of aged white cheddar)
  • Categories change based on your location — what’s available in one city may not appear in another
  • New products are added by vendors regularly, so check back often
