# Rules & Driver Rating

> How customer ratings work, what they're based on, and why keeping your acceptance rate healthy matters.

## Your Driver Rating

After each delivery, the customer has the option to rate you. Your **Driver Rating** page shows your average rating and, for every review that includes a written or tagged comment, what customers said.

* **Avg. rating** — your overall average, shown out of 5 stars.
* Ratings are calculated **based on your last 100 reviews** — a single bad rating won't sink your average, but a pattern will.

### What customers can tell us

Along with a star rating, customers can tag what stood out about their delivery — good or bad:

* **Quick delivery**
* **Friendliness**
* **Followed instructions**
* **Communication**

These show up on your Driver Rating page as what you're doing well and what to work on, so you have concrete feedback rather than just a number.

## Acceptance Rate

Separately from your customer rating, Local Pass tracks your **acceptance rate** — how often you accept the delivery requests sent to you.

<Note>
  **Declining a request or letting it time out doesn't count against you the same way cancelling an accepted job does.** See [Driver Lobby](/drivers/lobby) for how incoming requests work, and [Cancelling order](/cancelling-order) for the real point values behind cancelling something you've already accepted — disclosing a reason is always cheaper than cancelling silently, and some Stage 1 reasons carry no penalty at all.
</Note>

## Why This Matters

Your rating and acceptance rate are how Local Pass and customers judge the reliability of your service. Keep both healthy by:

* Being on time and communicating if you're running behind
* Following delivery instructions left by the customer
* Being honest about cancellation reasons rather than declining silently
* Responding to requests promptly rather than letting the timer run out
