# Payouts for boxes

> What each farm box pays you, when it reaches your balance, and what comes off.

Each box is paid into your Local Pass balance when changes close and its order is made. It then goes out with your store's usual [nightly payouts](https://localtechnologiesinc.mintlify.site/restaurants/payments/automated-payouts.md), as long as your store is active.

## What you get for each box

| **Boxes and extras** | The box price the member pays, plus any extras they added. |
| **Your delivery fees** | Your delivery fee, in full, for boxes you deliver. |
| **GST you collect** | GST on the box, if you charge it. It's yours to send to the CRA. |
| **Local Pass fee** | Taken off. A share of the boxes and extras, never of your delivery fee. |
| **GST and PST on the fee** | Taken off. In BC, 5% GST and 7% PST on the Local Pass fee. |

The Local Pass fee is the rate in your agreement with Local Pass. If your agreement doesn't set one, or has ended, it's 3%.

**Example** (at 3%, in BC): a $35 box picked up, no GST on the box. The Local Pass fee is $1.05, and the GST and PST on it is $0.13. Your payout for that box is $33.82.

The member also pays a service fee on each box (5% of the box, never more than $6, plus $0.30, with tax on it). That fee goes to Local Pass. It doesn't come out of your payout.

## Which boxes are paid

* **A box that's made**: paid, including a box the member donated. You pack it as usual.
* **Paid for the season**: the member paid once at signup, but you're paid box by box, as each week's box is made. If they cancel or the season is cut short, the boxes they don't get are never paid to you.
* **Skipped, paused, taken as Local Coins or a week off**: no box, so no payout.
* **Not paid**: if a member's card still hasn't gone through when your pickup window starts, no box is made and nothing is paid. Don't hand over a box marked **Not paid**.
* **Extras on a season-paid membership**: charged to the member's card that week, and paid to you with that week's box.

Members never pay more than the price they signed up at. If you lower your price, everyone pays the lower price. If you raise it, only new members pay more.

## Where to see it

* The **This week** tab sums up each box day. Open **How your payout adds up** for the lines above. Before changes close it's an estimate; after, it's what went to your balance.
* Each box is an order in **Order fulfillment**. Its order page shows the box and your payout.
