# Sign up

If you're new to Local Pass Business, follow these steps to register your merchant account.

## What you'll need

* A valid email address
* Your Canadian province and city
* A secure password

## Registration steps

### 1. Enter your email address

Type in the email address you want to use for your Local Pass Business account. This will be used for login and important notifications.

### 2. Select your province

Choose your Canadian province from the dropdown list. The available options are:

`AB` `BC` `ON` `QC` `MB` `SK` `NS` `NB` `NL` `PE` `NT` `NU` `YT`

### 3. Select your city

Once you've chosen a province, a second dropdown will appear. Select the city where your business operates.

### 4. Create a password

Your password must meet the following requirements:

* Minimum of 7 characters
* At least 1 uppercase letter
* At least 1 number or special character

### 5. Confirm your password

Re-enter your password in the **Confirm password** field. If the passwords don't match, a warning message will appear and you won't be able to proceed.

### 6. Accept the Terms & Conditions

Check the checkbox and read the **Local Pass Terms & Conditions** by clicking the link. In the document:

* Click **Accept** to agree and enable account creation
* Click **Decline** to close without accepting

> You cannot create your account without accepting the Terms & Conditions. The **Create Account** button will remain disabled until you check the box.

### 7. Click Create Account

Once all fields are complete and the terms are accepted, click **Create Account**. You'll receive a confirmation email and be taken directly to the store setup flow.
