You can move forward and backward between steps at any time using the **Next Step** and **Previous Step** buttons. The steps are: 1. Owner & Store Details 2. Business Address & Hours 3. Store Attributes 4. Social Media 5. Appearance *** ## Step 1 — Owner & Store Details This step collects essential information about you and your business. ### Owner details These details are used internally to manage your account and are not displayed publicly to customers. | Field | Description | | ----------------- | ------------------------------ | | **First name** | e.g. Peter | | **Last name** | e.g. Johnson | | **Mobile number** | Used for account purposes only | ### Store details | Field | Description | | ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Business name** | The name customers will see, e.g. Gourmet Meats & Pastry | | **About business** | The story of your business — up to 1,000 characters | | **Tagline** | A short catchy phrase highlighting your store — up to 140 characters | | **Business type** | Select your category from the dropdown (e.g. Restaurant, Farm, Bakery) | | **Cuisine type** | Only appears if you select **Restaurant** — choose your cuisine style | ### Business contact details These details are **visible to customers** on your public store page. | Field | Example | | ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------- | | **Email** | [hello@yourbusiness.ca](mailto:hello@yourbusiness.ca) | | **Phone** | (604) 555-1234 | | **Website** | [https://yourbusiness.ca](https://yourbusiness.ca) | Click **Next Step** when done. *** ## Step 2 — Business Address & Hours Set the physical location of your business and your opening hours. ### Business address 1. Start typing your address in the search field 2. A list of suggested addresses will appear below 3. Tap the correct address to confirm it 4. Your saved address will display above the search field > **Important:** You must select a business address before you can move to the next step. The **Next Step** button stays disabled until an address is confirmed. ### Location hours Set your opening and closing times for each day of the week. * Use the time selectors to set **Open from** and **Open until** for each day * If you are closed on a particular day, toggle the **Closed** switch for that day Click **Next Step** when done. *** ## Step 3 — Store Attributes Tell customers how you sell and who you are. ### Sales model The options shown depend on your business type. **For non-restaurant businesses** (farms, bakeries, food producers, etc.): | Option | Description | | ------------- | ----------------------------------------- | | **Retail** | You sell directly to individual customers | | **Wholesale** | You sell in bulk to other businesses | | **Both** | You offer retail and wholesale | **For restaurants:** | Option | Description | | ----------- | ------------------------------ | | **Dine-in** | Customers eat at your location | | **Takeout** | Customers pick up their order | | **Both** | You offer dine-in and takeout | > Only one sales model option can be active at a time. Selecting **Both** will automatically deactivate the individual options. ### Business attributes These optional tags help customers discover your store when searching or filtering on Local Pass. | Attribute | What it signals | | -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Indigenous-owned** | Your business is Indigenous-owned | | **Women-owned** | Your business is women-owned | | **Ethnic Store** | Your business specialises in products from a specific cultural heritage | Click **Next Step** when done. *** ## Step 4 — Social Media Link your social media accounts so customers can follow your business. All fields are optional. | Platform | What to enter | | ------------- | ---------------------------------- | | **Facebook** | Your full profile link or page URL | | **Instagram** | Your full profile link | | **TikTok** | Your full profile link | | **YouTube** | Your channel link | | **WeChat** | Your WeChat handle or link | Click **Next Step** when done. *** ## Step 5 — Appearance Upload your store's logo and cover photo. A live preview shows how your store will look to customers on both desktop and mobile before you submit. ### Uploading your logo 1. Click **Upload logo** 2. Select an image from your device 3. Click **Upload** to save it to your profile ### Uploading your cover photo 1. Click **Upload cover photo** 2. Select an image from your device 3. Click **Upload** to save it to your profile > Images are compressed automatically to help your store page load quickly for customers. ### Resetting your images If you want to start over, click **Reset** to clear your selected images and begin again. ### Live preview Below the upload buttons you'll see a real-time preview showing how your store card will appear to customers in both **desktop** and **mobile** views. The preview updates automatically as you upload images and fill in your store name and description. ### Completing setup Once you're happy with your store's appearance, click **Complete** to create your store. 🎉 *** ## Next steps After completing setup you'll be taken through a short [onboarding walkthrough](/onboarding) before arriving at your [dashboard](/dashboard).
