# Finding restaurants near you

Before browsing restaurants, Local Pass needs to know where you'd like your food delivered. Your delivery address determines which restaurants are available to you.

**To set or update your delivery address:**

1. Open the **Takeout** section from the home screen
2. Tap the location bar at the top — it shows either your current address or *"Delivery address is not set."*
3. Enter your address in the screen that appears and save it

Once your address is set, the restaurant feed automatically updates to show only restaurants that serve your area.

  You can update your delivery address at any time by tapping the location bar. This is useful if you're ordering to a different address, like a workplace or a friend's place.

## Browsing the Restaurant Feed

The main Takeout feed shows all active restaurants delivering to your location. Each restaurant card displays:

* **Cover photo** of the restaurant
* **Name** and cuisine type
* **Star rating** with total review count
* **Active promotions** — shown as a yellow banner if the restaurant has a current offer
* A *"Currently not accepting orders"* notice if the restaurant is temporarily closed

Scroll down to load more restaurants. The feed loads 20 restaurants at a time and automatically fetches more as you scroll.

## Browsing by Cuisine Type

At the top of the Takeout screen, you'll see a horizontal row of cuisine category icons — things like Sushi, Pizza, Thai, and more. These are pulled from restaurants actually available in your area, so you'll only see categories with at least one active restaurant.

**To browse a specific cuisine:**

Tap any category icon to open a filtered feed showing only restaurants of that type. You can apply additional filters within that view as well.

## Filtering the Feed

Both the main Takeout feed and cuisine-specific feeds include quick filter chips you can toggle on and off:

| Filter        | What it does                                              |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Top Rated** | Shows only restaurants with a 4.0 star rating or higher   |
| **Promotion** | Shows only restaurants that currently have an active deal |
| **Cuisine**   | Opens a full list of cuisine types to select one or more  |
| **Nearest**   | Sorts restaurants by distance from your current location  |

You can combine multiple filters at the same time. When any filter is active, a **Reset** button appears on the left — tap it to clear everything and return to the default view.

  Use **Nearest** together with **Top Rated** to quickly find a highly-rated restaurant close to you.

## Promotions Banner

Between the cuisine categories and the restaurant list, you may see a scrollable promotions banner. This highlights featured deals and special offers from partner restaurants. Tap any banner to go directly to that restaurant.

## What "Not Accepting Orders" Means

If a restaurant card shows a *"Currently not accepting orders"* badge, the restaurant is visible in the feed but cannot receive new orders at this time. This is usually temporary — the restaurant may be at capacity, closed for the day, or outside their operating hours.

You can still view their profile and menu, but you won't be able to add items to your cart until they re-open.
