# Driver Lobby

> How to go online, start receiving delivery requests, and end your shift when you're done.

## Going Online

1. Open the app and tap **Delivery Driver Mode** from your profile.
2. Tap the **START SHIFT** button at the top of the screen.
3. Your status changes to **Online** and you'll immediately begin receiving delivery requests.

  Your shift earnings are displayed in the green bubble at the top right of the screen. This updates automatically after each completed delivery.

## Going Offline

1. Tap **COMPLETE SHIFT** at the top of the Driver Mode screen.
2. A confirmation pop-up appears — tap **Confirm** to go offline, or **Cancel** to keep working.

  Do not end your shift while you have an active delivery. Always complete or properly resolve the current order before going offline.

## Driver Mode Screen States

The Driver Mode screen shows different content depending on your current status:

### Offline

You'll see a **wifi-off icon** and the message *"You're offline."* Tap **START SHIFT** to go online.

### Online — Waiting for Orders

The delivery request feed is active and you'll receive incoming requests automatically. Your location is being broadcast to the system.

### Online — Delivery in Progress

You'll see *"Delivery is in Progress"* with a **View Active Job** button. Tap it to return to your active delivery navigation screen.

## Responding to an Incoming Request

When a request comes in, a card shows where you'd be picking up from, the drop-off address, and what the delivery pays. You have **40 seconds** to respond before it's treated as declined and offered to someone else.

* **Accept** — takes the job and starts navigation to pickup.
* **Decline** — turns the card down. So does letting the 40-second timer run out — the two work exactly the same way.

<Note>
  **Declining (or letting a request time out) doesn't cost you anything.** This is different from cancelling a job you've already accepted, which does affect your acceptance rate — see [Cancelling order](/cancelling-order) for that penalty structure. There's no reason to accept a job you don't want just to avoid a score hit; simply let it pass or tap Decline.

## Shift Earnings

The green earnings bubble at the top of the screen tracks everything you earn during the current shift (base pay + tips). When you complete a shift, your earnings reset to zero for the next session. Your full earnings history is available in your driver profile.
