# Store Growth

**Where to find it:** Settings → Store Growth

The Store Growth page has two tools: **Search Keywords** and **Checkout Offers**. Both are designed to help more customers find your store and spend more when they do.

## Search Keywords

Keywords are words or short phrases that customers might type when searching for products like yours. Adding the right keywords makes your store easier to discover on Local Pass.

### How to add keywords

1. Type a keyword in the input field (e.g., "gala apples", "sourdough bread", "free-range eggs")
2. Tap the **checkmark icon** that appears while the field is focused
3. The keyword will appear as an orange tag below the field
4. Repeat for as many keywords as you like — up to **30 keywords** are supported
5. Tap **Save** when finished

### How to remove a keyword

Tap the **X** next to any keyword tag to remove it from the list.

<Tip>
  Think about what your customers actually search for. Product-specific terms like "local honey", "gluten-free sourdough", and "heirloom tomatoes" tend to perform better than generic terms like "food" or "farm".
</Tip>

### Tips for choosing good keywords

* Use words your customers would naturally type
* Include both product names and descriptors (e.g., "organic blueberries", "smoked salmon")
* Think about dietary preferences your products meet (e.g., "vegan", "nut-free", "keto-friendly")
* Include seasonal items when relevant (e.g., "strawberry jam", "pumpkin pie")

## Checkout Offers

A checkout offer — sometimes called a **Mystery Box** or checkout deal — is an optional add-on shown to customers at the point of checkout. It gives you a chance to increase an average order value by offering something extra to their order. Examples include a mystery box after customer adds \$15 more of products, or a customer loyalty gift.

<Tip>
  Note that mystery boxes are optional and you can't attach automatically any products to this type of promotion. Also note, that mystery box is not treated as a sale or promotion in our system. When you create promotions, keep that in mind that PRODUCT-LEVEL SALES, PROMOTIONS and CHECKOUT OFFERS are not cannot be combined.
</Tip>

### How it works

When a customer is about to complete their order, they see a slider with an amount to qualify for the offer on the checkout screen. Once the amount is increased, they move closer to securing that price.

### Setting up a checkout offer

1. Toggle the switch to **enable** the checkout offer
2. Enter a **name** for the offer (e.g., "Mystery Gift", "Add-on Surprise", "Chef's Pick")
3. Enter the **amount** in dollars (e.g., `15.00`)
4. Tap **Save**

### Disabling a checkout offer

Toggle the switch to **off** to stop showing the offer to customers. Your saved name and amount will remain in case you want to re-enable it later.

<Warning>
  The value of your offer must be genuinely appealing. Customers should feel like they're getting a deal, not just paying extra. Price it as something you'd be excited to receive yourself.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  Currently, we do not track checkout offers in a payment structure, which means you need to track orders that qualify for the mystery box.
</Warning>

### Tips for a great checkout offer

* Offer something that complements common orders (e.g., a house-made jam to go with a bread order)
* Use a price point that feels like a bargain compared to buying the item separately
* Give it a fun or intriguing name to spark curiosity
* Rotate your offer seasonally to keep it fresh
